Born and educated in Rome, Stefania Pinsone holds a degree both from the Academy of Fine Arts – in painting – and from the University of Tor Vergata– in art history. After a stint teaching art history in Rome, in 2013 she moved to the Basel area of Switzerland and took up full-time painting as her new profession. After four years, Stefania has developed a unique style that combines the refined elegance of realist painting in the classical period with the experimental edginess of a new contemporary impressionism of the digital age. Combining theory and practice, she unites her imagination and technical skills with her knowledge of the art that has defined our civilisation.
Noteworthy is her precedent-setting use of brightly-colored acrylic paint on unusual surfaces such as metal and Plexiglas, which she applies completely by hand with a fine brush in geometric lines to produce digital images with various qualities of avant-garde photography.
Stefania Pinsone’s work has begun to attract attention and generate appreciation world-wide. In both 2016 and 2017 she exhibited in London, winning a price in 2016, she has been selected for exhibiting in public art spaces in China and during those years, her work has been featured in art publications in Germany, England, China and the United States.
